December 15th, 2004

Dear Players and Parents:

Hard to believe our 2005 High School Rugby season will start in only 2 and ½ months.

Our first EPRU scrimmages are scheduled during the last week-end in February.

During that last week-end in February, the Allentown Blues Rugby Club will be traveling to Maryland for a round robin tournament vs. some top level teams in the Potomac Rugby Union. More information will follow, but this is a mandatory rugby trip to prepare us for the upcoming season.

The attitude of our players needs to improve; you need to approach rugby just like you would any other varsity sport in your school. Coaches of other sports would not put up with the lack of effort from some of our players. The Allentown Blues will have plenty of players to march onto the field and the players that practice will be the only ones that play. No Acceptations!

Winter practices have gone well and we have new players signing up each week.

Starting Thursday December 16th and continuing through out the winter we will be practicing at a brand new Gym. West End Youth Center.  From 5:30 TO 7:00.

DIRECTIONS:

Heading East on Tilghman Street turn left on 20th and the facility is located on the corner of 20th and Greenleaf streets.

Some players have been attempting to make practice and others have the attitude that they know enough about rugby to not attend practice. If you think this is true then do not bother playing the game. I’ve been playing for 23 years and after all this playing time, I learn new things about the game each and every time I touch a rugby ball.

If you are working, I understand, but if you can arrange to have Thursdays off then please try to make it to practices. If you can not make practice, let me know.

I deserve a phone call as I put a lot of time and effort into this team.

Please do not hesitate to call or E-mail if you have any questions.
